I love the striped binding...
My mom says that if there is an empty horizontal surface that I will fill it up... and lately i've been doing so with quilting stuff...

Animal Party Girls and Berry Jelly and Jam
I finished the Animal Party Girls quilt... well, except for a label. I think I'm just going to do a simple/basic one.
Glimpse of the back...
Close-up of the backing fabric... (from the 1/2 off table at the quilt shop)...
Well, I got a bit bored with the Halloween quilt. So I took a break from it and and made this little top. It's a small version of a Fig Tree Pattern call "Jelly and Jam" and I made it using some of the leftovers of my "Berry Delicious" fabric. I'm going to just put a white border on it (the same width as the sashing). I bought some blue and white, large print, gingham-like fabric for the backing today (another steal from the 1/2 off table at the quilt shop) and I'm planning to bind it in solid red. These blocks are made with jelly roll strips and are very fast to put together.
I just realized while previewing this post, that I think I sewed a couple of blocks not in the order I intended... oh, well, I'm not going to redo it at this point.

Animal Party Brights 7/17/2010
Well, I finally finished the first of the 3 Animal Party baby quilts. Lesson learned: be more careful with the cutting/pressing/squaring and your straight line quilting will look straighter :) However, I still really like it in a "homespun" sort of way.
Closer look at the quilting.
Now that it's done, I'm not sure which I like better -- the back or the front!
Close-up of the dresden. This is actually my quilt label. I'm going to write along the circumference of the center "For .... Born... Made with love by...." etc.

Halloween Quilt Fabrics
So I started out with a fat quarter bundle of the fabrics in the bottom 3 rows. Then realized that I needed some more fabric to make a twin size. So I found some more oranges and the green dots on the top row. Then I thought maybe some blues thrown in would be good because their room is mostly blue already, hence the blues on the top row.
So this is the new sketch with the block colors laid out. I forgot to take a picture of the sashing. It's got dots... actually that was the one fabric I was able to get a download of for this sketch... however, it looks better in person than in the sketch.

Caroler
Here's my caroler quilt top finally completed! I originally bought the border fabric for another project. However, I later realized I liked it better for this quilt's border...
and then after cutting it found out I was about 8 inches short, but only had a 2.25 inch wide strip left. So I had to piece 2 of the corners. Hopefully it won't be that noticable when fully quilted.
